Located in Santa Elena, Montañita is a favorite destination for local and foreign tourists looking for fun, adventure tourism and fine gastronomy.

Walking through the streets of the commune is to admire cultural performances from all over the world. The town presents modern buildings that are combined with local materials (wood and cedar), and make up a picturesque place of nuances.

The town has a history built in two moments. The first with the settlement of the Valdivia culture (3500 years BC) made famous by the famous “Venus of Valdivia” statuette; and the second as a top surfing destination, about 40 years ago.

“Surfing City” is a socio-cultural space that adapts itself to the changes and desires of international tourists. Here, gastronomy is defined with typical dishes prepared with quality and traditional seasoning. Among the ingredients used are shrimp, squid, octopus, crabs and other seafood.
