Cotopaxi is one of Ecuador’s most iconic natural wonders, a majestic volcano that symbolizes the country’s incredible diversity and beauty.
Majestic Record: Cotopaxi is the second tallest active volcano in the world, reaching a height of 19,347 feet (5,897 meters). Its perfectly symmetrical snow-capped peak is a breathtaking sight.

Itinerary for a two-day trip to Cotopaxi

The Cotopaxi volcano is considered one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, its height is 5,897 meters and it is the second highest mountain in Ecuador. Its shape is like a symmetrical cone. Climbing the mountain does not require professional experience and ability, but only physical preparation and prolonged acclimatization to the altitude, which is done at the beginning of the trip.
We will get on the vehicles and reach the first station which is at an altitude of 4500 meters,

From this point we will continue the walk that will last about an hour with a moderate ascent to the second station which is at an altitude of 4800 meters, to the Jose Rivas Refugio climbers cabin from which we go to the top.
There you will have dinner and rest time before the long-awaited trek.

The guides will prepare you for the departure scheduled for midnight. When the wake-up will be at 11:30 p.m., before the departure the excitement is great, you will receive food and drink, equipment, crampons (snow nails), walking sticks, helmets, machete and flashlights,
The climb is done in a group of three and in a column, when you are connected by safety ropes and a rope.

We will start the trek going up to the top which will last about 7-8 hours, when the climb is divided into 3 parts.
In the next part you will reach a height of (5,150m), a stage where the walking is slower and you will have to be more careful and focused because the ascent is steep and the slope is more slippery. This is an amazing night experience.

After 7-8 hours of walking with an indescribable feeling at dawn you will reach the summit in question, the summit of Cotopaxi
